Comprehensive plan update timing
The 2018 comprehensive plan (looking toward 2030) is outdated — its emphasis on a DCTA train stop has shifted toward walkability and parks. Council will likely be asked to start a review in the next couple of years.
Auto repair shop planned development at 505 Thompson Drive
Lake Dallas is about 95% built out, so most future zoning cases will be planned development negotiations for redeveloping existing properties. Staff says roughly 80% of upcoming cases will be PDs, with two possibly arriving at the November meeting.
Rezoning of 631 S. Lake Dallas Drive
A second Planned Development ordinance was set for final action on a lot along the I-35 Business Corridor, converting its C-3 Commercial zoning into a PD with development regulations attached. Anything along that corridor shapes what the city's main commercial gateway looks like for years.
